Peter 2023/03/15

Hi I want this rim in UD RAW finish. By raw, I mean unpainted and not clear coated matt/gloss/satin. Just bare carbon. Could you deliver this, R25 hooked rim with no finish? Also, I want it to be assembled with SILVER Carbon-Ti hubs and silver sapim cx ray spokes/silver aluminum nipples. Thanks!

LightBicycle 2023/03/15

Hi Peter, Thanks for reaching out! Paint-less rims are made by a re-design process (from mold material, layup engineering, curing process, etc). R25 700C bike rim is a rim made with a classic carbon process. The raw rims are not good enough to pass our strict QC. But we only apply with a very thin layer of the coating so the carbon fibers are still visible to the eyes. So you can see they're not serious defects that are covered up by heavy paint. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, I'm looking to replace the rims on a set of Dura-Ace c24 wheels. The spoke count is 16F and 20R. Are these rims offered in these spoke counts?

LightBicycle 2022/03/28

Hi Matt, Yes, the R25 700C 25mm rims could be drilled front 16H and rear 20H. Do you need the special G3 or 2:1 drilling? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Preston 2020/08/23

Hi. I currently have a set of American Classic Mag 300’s with Sapim spokes. My research shows that the rims have an ERD of 591. Do you think I could get away using the same spokes with these rims?

LightBicycle 2020/08/24

Hi Preston, The ERD difference is 1mm, so theoretically, you can reuse the spokes. However, we don' recommend build the road disc wheels with used spokes and nipples. The threads are warned after the first build. Thanks, Lightbicycle

andy 2019/05/05

hi, would this carbon 25x25 rim work for a 77KG rider (me) with extralite hubs? (hd front, sl-2 rear) in 28/28 configuration (28 spokes front and rear). for a vintage pinarello treviso from the 1980s. how stiff are these 40xg rims compared to equivalent aluminum? also, do you make an asymmetric version of this lightweight rim? if not, how do i have my LBS lace the hub/rims to equalize tension on the NDS of the rear wheel? lots of questions i know.

LightBicycle 2019/05/06

Hi Andy, 77kg is considered a lightweight rider, so yes, the wheelset road disc 25mm wide WRU25C02 (25mm wide*25mm deep) that built with Extralite hubs will strong enough for you. Double check with you, the hubs you want is Extralite CyberFront HD and CyberRear SL-2 with 28H spokes. Correct? Stiff is the key feature of carbon rims, many of our customers never go back to aluminum. All of our road rims were designed to reach the balance of lateral and radial stiffness to make sure the confines and stiffness during riding. Stiff is not the only factor would affect the riding performance. We also adding Dynamic Speed Balance to our rims from the very beginning of the manufacturing process. We will also consider this while wheel building, so the best way to gain nice performance is to purchase the full wheelset from us including the valve and tape weight. We don't have the asymmetrical version of the specific rim, but we do have an asymmetrical road rim RG922 (29mm wide, 28mm deep, 2mm offset ) gravel bike wheels available. The tire width recommendation range is 23~50c. Let me know if this rim fits your request. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hiroshi 2019/03/30

Hello. Will you let me know if there is the side designation of the rim with graphene brake track? Thank you, Hiroshi

LightBicycle 2019/04/01

Hi Hiroshi, We can add the new graphene brake surface to all 700C road rims. the one you are looking at RRU25C02 (25mm wide, 25mm deep) certainly is doable as well. The rim would be USD177 with the brake surface. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hans 2019/02/03

I’m thinking about reusing my DT R1700 hubs. Front 18 and rear 24 spokes. Is this possible and what would this set of rims aprox. cost?

LightBicycle 2019/02/04

Hi Hans, Thanks for your interested in our rims! Are you interested in RRU25C02 rims(25mm wide/25mm deep)? The cost is as below. You can order two rims and rebuild on your DT hubs. RRU25C02: clincher, UD matte, front 24H/28H, with high TG resin brake surface, no disc, USD147 each If it is with graphene grooved brake surface, the rim cost will be USD177 each. The delivery cos is USD68.1 for two rims to Netherlands by EMS delivery. It is USD89.1 by TPD delivery. TPD delivery is tax prepaid. You will not have to pay tax or VAT by TPD delivery. Which do you prefer? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hans 2019/02/04

Thanks, been investigating what I would need on my existing DT SWISS R1700 hubs. Can you inform me about the size/type of the Sapim CX spokes that need to be used with the RRU25C02 in combination with the R1700 hubs?

LightBicycle 2019/02/05

Hi Hans, If you like our help to get the spoke length for RRU25C02, you will have to wait for a few days. We are on Chinese New Year vacation from Feb 3rd~Feb 11th. Is that okay? Are your hubs straight pull or J-bend? Front 20H/rear 24H? Then we can check with our wheelbuild engineer on the spoke length for you on Feb 12th. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Nicola 2018/12/28

Hi, Can I use the bladed spokes on this rim or in general in other rims? Thanks.

LightBicycle 2018/12/29

Hi Nicola, You can use the blade spokes for all road wheelsets. What we offer is the Sapim CX-Ray spokes, it's lightweight, durable and aerodynamics. Will be a great option for road wheels. Do you want to build a complete wheelset from us? Our wheel builders are very experienced and skilled. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Nicola 2019/01/02

LightBicycle 2019/01/03

Hi Nicola, Yes, we do have asymmetric road bike rims available. You can see the rim profile from the attached picture. What rim depth do you prefer? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Isco 2018/11/20

I am interested about your rims in youtube, can this rims 25mm for 85 kilos i look in your spec max 110 kilos , can this rims use dt swiss competition Thanks for your attention

LightBicycle 2018/11/24

Hi Isco, We have built a lot of wheels with DT Swiss competition spokes for our customers, but only MTB wheels. Usually, we don't suggest using round spokes for a road wheel. For one it would certainly gain some weight. On the other hand, it would too stiff and lack of aerodynamics. Most people go with bladed spokes. We offer Pillar Aero X-TRA 1420 and Sapim CX-Ray spokes for most of our road wheels. Will them be ok with you? If you prefer using DT spokes, they also provide bladed spokes, we can check if we are able to purchase them for you. Your weight is ok to ride on our RRU25C02 (25mm wide, 25mm deep) 700C road rims. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Cris 2017/05/12

Would the 24c02 be a good idea to set up tubeless for an sworks tarmac???

LightBicycle 2017/05/15

Hello Cris, Thanks for your inquiry. Some of our customers gave us the feedback that it is a little difficult to do the tubeless setup on RR240C02 rim. So we’d like to recommend the 25mm wide U shape 25mm rim which is easy to setup tubeless tyres. You only have to use tubeless tape, sealant and tubeless tire. Then the rim can ride tubeless perfectly. Also, the wider rim is much stronger. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hello can you please email me a quote for a set of these rims built with DTSwiss240s ( rim brake) , black CXRay spokes with a Campagnolo 10/11spd freehub. Somewhere around a 24/28 spoke count. Thanks.

Light-Bicycle 2016/10/17

Hello Phil, Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, for DT Swiss 240S hubs, we only have front 20H/rear 24H spoke count. If you like front 24H/rear 28H, we have Novatec A291/F482 hubs. Does it work for you? Thanks, Light-bicycle

rik 2016/06/10

Hi, I am after a pair of 28 hole rim brake rims (non disc) but i am after the lightest ones you do. You quote a weight of 405G or- 15grams. I would them to be the lighter of the two at 390g is this possible?

Light-Bicycle 2016/06/11

Hello Rik, Thanks for your inquiry. RRU25C02 (clincher): 405 /-15g, $159/pcs Shipping with EMS is $50. All pricing in USD. We can pick up the light rims weight around 390g-400g. Does that work for you? Sorry, we cannot guarantee that the rim is 390g exactly or lighter 390g. Because the rim with lighter weight won’t be strong enough for normal riding. Thanks, Light-bicycle
