TECH

With a huge 45mm internal width and the ability to run anything from a 2.8” tire right up to a monstrous 3.2”, the XC745 (RM650BC14) will give you the smooth-rolling traction you’ve always wanted.

Typically, stock alloy plus wheelsets are built with heavier spokes to make up for their lack of stiffness. With a vertically compliant rim and significant side stiffness, lighter spokes are used to reduce overall wheel weight. Upgrading to our plus rims can easily save more than a pound off of a stock rims! Breath new life into your ride and bring a new level of responsiveness, stiffness, and control.

Is there anyway to ask for the lighest weight of these rims to be used for a wheelset build. I am 110 lbs so do not want a heavy rim. 450g -455g is OK but would not want to get something 470-490g.

LightBicycle 2017/07/20

Hi Jill, Thanks for your inquiry! Okay, We will try our best to pick up the rims less than 460g for you. Does it work for you? Thanks, Lightbicycle

I wish these were 40 ID. These rims are too wide for the optimal 2.8" plus tires.

Light-Bicycle 2016/05/26

Hello Matt, Thanks for your inquiry. Our 650B plus rim is with 50mm outer/ 45mm inner width. Don’t worry, it can work well with 2.8’’ tires. The recommend tires width are 2.8’’ – 3.1’’. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Nicol 2017/01/11

"650B plus rim is with 50mm outer/ 45mm inner width" -- is this the standard size for 650B plus?

LightBicycle 2017/01/12

Hello Nicol, Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, our 50mm wide 650B plus rim is the standard size. The recommend tires width are 2.8’’ ~ 3.1’’. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Ben 2016/11/02

If I place my order can you please send me rims that weigh 430g or less? I'm willing to wait

Light-Bicycle 2016/11/02

Hello Ben, Thanks for your inquiry. RM650BC14 (50mm width): weight under 455g, $200/pcs I double checked with our engineer, and we only can manufacture the rims around 450g ~ 455g. If the rim at 430g, it is not strong enough for your riding and will affect the rims strength. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Fabio 2016/08/31

Hullo, is possible to buy two rims RM650 BC14, one rim with 24 holes and an other with 28 holes ? thank you very much Fabio

Light-Bicycle 2016/09/01

Hello Fabio, Thanks for your inquiry. It is okay to order 2pcs RM650BC14 in 24H/28H. For drilling pattern, center drilling as attached picture is more popular. Does that work for you? Thanks, Light-bicycle

Tony 2016/05/18

I am interested in the RM650BC14 but with a 40mm internal and 45mm outer. Can you tell me when / if this will be made? Thanks in advance Tony

Light-Bicycle 2016/05/19

Hello Tony, Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, only 40mm and 50mm outer width rims are available. Rims profile attached for reference. We will discuss with our engineers, and will let you know once we have a plan to make the 40mm internal and 45mm outer rim. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Cam 2016/07/08

Hi there, I would like to buy a 37-41 mm internal width 27.5 rim for my plus bike. The 45mm and 33mm internal rims are not ideal for 2.8" tires. When will you be coming out with such a rim? Keep up the good work! - Cam

Light-Bicycle 2016/07/09

Hello Cam, Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, we don't have the 37mm~41mm inner width rims. We might manufacture this kind of rim in the future. But it's hard to tell the availability of time frame. The most similar rims are 33.6mm inner rim(AM733) and 45mm inner(RM650BC14). Is it OK for you? AM733: 2.3''~3.1'' tires RM650BC14: 2.8''~3.1'' tires Thanks, Light-bicycle

Your 50 mm 29er rims are great with 3.0 tires on my krampus. I'm not sure why folks are unhappy with that width

Light-Bicycle 2016/05/27

Hello Sandy, Thanks for your support. We are so happy you are enjoying the rims. It would be great to see a picture of them on your bike! Happy Trails! Light-bicycle

I think you might need a rim in between your 650 plus 50mm and your 38mm rim options. It has become popular to have a 45mm outer 40mm inner rim. FYI. Thanks. If you could make one with the profile of your 38mm 650 rim, you'd have a super plus rim. My two cents. I love your products. Keep them coming!!

Light-Bicycle 2016/03/26

Hello Sam, Thank you for taking the time to give us detailed feedback. We really appreciate it and will discuss this. Currently, we are launching new 40mm wide 650B asymmetrical rim. Rim profile attached for reference. We will let you know once we have a plan to manufacture the 45mm width rims. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Jackson 2016/04/12

Totally agree, Light-Bicycle needs to produce a 40mm ID/45mm OD carbon 650 rim. Many people will be attempting to try plus tires and plus tire bikes here soon. The consensus for the perfect plus tire diameter is 40ID/45OD

Light-Bicycle 2016/04/13

Hi Jackson, Thanks for your inquiry. There are 50mm wide and 45mm wide 650b rims currently. Please find the attached cross-section drawing of the rims. Is it OK for you? We might launch a new 650b rim with 45mm roughly in the coming future. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Hi, I would like to get a quote for a pair of rims -32 spokes -centered drilling -nippes black -3k matte finished -availability -ship to Italy -spoke's tension Thank you so much

Light-Bicycle 2016/03/24

ello Luigi, Thanks for your inquiry. RM650BC14 (50mm width plus): 450 /-20g, $200/pcs Shipping with EMS is $50. All pricing in USD. Rims in 3k matte, 32H and centered drilling are fine. If you would like to order, please let me know and I can create the purchasing link for you. The maximum spoke tension of our rim is 180kgf. Generally, 3 of charging tension are involved in wheel building. A. Tension for "transportation riders" (Comfort ability) 80-90kgf are ideal for regular transportation riders or exercise on a regular basis. B. Tension for "enthusiast riders" (Balance) 100-110kgf are good for people with enjoyful and training purpose. C. Tension for "professional riders" (Performance) 120-130kgf are charged for riders who are expertized in riding or competition. The recommendation of spoke tension is less than 130kgf. Thanks, Lightbicycle

What is the amount of offset for the offset drilling pattern? I would like to build these into a Surly Pugsley and need to know if the offset will work with their 17.5mm offset frame.

Light-Bicycle 2016/03/17

Hello Rusty, Thanks for your inquiry. Do you like rims with offset drilling? If so, it is offset by 4mm. Please find attached rim profile. Thanks, Lightbicycle
