Disc: The disc hub has optional 6-bolt or center lock version.The matched disc rim does not have a brake track and features a unique disc specific layup process. Our new layup is about 10g ~30g lighter by reducing the unnecessary material and utilizing elements of our Flyweight construction method.

Non Disc(Rim brake): By default, the rim brake 700C road rims come with an advanced High TG surface whose braking power and reliability is significantly improved over a basalt braking surface.

Our newest Grooved Graphene Surface is ready now. The price is $30 added for each rim. If you would like to update with newest brake tracks, please contact us at sales@lightbicycle.com.

18T - Deepest teeth, slowest engagement, least amount of maintenance, suitable for powerful riders.

36T - Happy medium, doubles the engagement points.

54T - Super fast engagement, but shallow teeth require more careful re-greasing and the thru-axle should be checked every ride.

Sapim Race – Our strongest and stiffest spoke. These spokes are suitable for heavy or extremely aggressive riders who need a stiffer wheel.
Sapim CX-Ray – The lightest spoke in our lineup is still quite strong due to the elasticity and amazing fatigue life.
DT Competition Race - All Mountain and XC spoke used by the Chinese location as a substitue for the D-Light (depending on availability)
Pillar PSR X-TRA 1420 - An inexpensive bladed spoke, great for road and cyclocross riding.
Pillar Wing 20 - Pillar patented highest level of aerodynamic bladed spoke reducing potential weak spots and twisting during tensioning. Currently, they are offered in oil slick color only with increased wear and corrosion resistance.
Sapim CX Sprint-Rear drive side/ CX Ray-Other sides - This customized combo increases the rear drive side power transmition efficiency significantly while grabs superior light-weight and aero performance.
Oil slick J-bend - They are made by a qualified manufacturer in Taiwan with custom design by Light Bicycle. They are J-bend only so do not order these spokes for SP hubs you configured in the previous step.
LB Flyweight Carbon Regular Edition >> -It maximizes wheel stiffness while keeping things more aero, designed to unlimit your hub choice making your wheels more customizable than ever.

Non Disc - High TG Surface: Rim Brake 700C road rims use an advanced High TG resin system with a layer of graphene to help dissipate heat. The braking power and reliability is significantly improved over a basalt braking surface.

Non Disc - Grooved Graphene Surface: Our new resin system and construction method, combined with the 3k rim track, withstands over 280°C, dissipates heat, and lowers rim temperatures faster in between braking efforts. Gain confidence-inspiring brake performance on the steepest descents and wettest conditions with our matching brake pads. Also, graphene added to the rim brake track allows for greater resistance to overheating with improved heat dissipation and reduced temperature accumulation during heavy braking. The grooved track helps evacuate trapped moisture between pad and rim in wet conditions, and brings more resistance and force at the lever when conditions are dry.

Full Custom: This option (if provided here to choose) offers custom braking track in other various weaves (UD/12K/3K twill etc) with 1-2 weeks LONGER on manufacture and extra $10USD/rim only as a start (with High TG Surface by default). Drain Hole This is a required option.

The two small drain holes located 90° to the valve hole effectively help evacuate both the water trapped inside the rim and the air leaking into the rim chamber caused by nonperfect tubeless tape sealing handwork that may risk rim explosure in an aggressive tire inflating.

It is the small reinforced layer prelaminated on the area where the drain hole is drilled later that makes the rim strength fairly ensured without any compromise of weight added.

Riders who ride in wet areas are suggested to order rims with drain holes.

Center Channel Hole & Nipple Hole This is a required option.

Center Channel Hole options:
1) With Access Holes: This is the traditional method. Spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel to allow the nipples to easily be fed through the rim. Tubeless tape is required to seal the rim.
2) No Access Holes: No spoke access holes are drilled in the center channel. Feeding the nipples through the rim is more challenging, but it allows for a tubeless setup without the need for tape. This kind of system is known as "road tubeless" or referred as 'UST style'. Currently, rims with 'No Access Holes' do not work with our carbon spokes.

Nipple Hole options:
1) External Nipple Hole is the commentional way drilled for external nipples and is the default standard for Light Bicycle rims.
2) Internal Nipple Hole is drilled for internal nipples('upside down/ hidden style'). This is optional for some Light Bicycle rims.

Decal This is a required option.

Road rims use super light waterslide decals (matte colors). The decal is very thin and applied under a clearcoat so they are non-removeable.

Valve Stem This is a required option.

We use a lightweight black alloy anodized valves with an oversized concave collar for easy gripping. A rubber o-ring goes in between the rim and the collar to help seal the rim and match the contour of the rim profile. The valve core is removable so you can add sealant without removing your tire.

I am interested in your carbon 45 rim brake wheel set. My bike is a 2016 Wilier GTR Team with Campagnolo Athena side pull brakes. Though the manufacturer says I can run up to 28mm tires, there is no mention of maximum rim width the bike can accept. Are there any measurements I could take that on the bike that could help me determine if I could fit a much wider rim than my current Campagnolo Zondas. Thank you

Hello, I am really interested in the Falcon R45s, but I’m not sure how to tell if they will fit my bicycle. My 2014 Scott CR1 10 has narrow rear chainstays. I currently run older Boyd Altamont allow clincher rims with a 21mm inner width, which makes the widest tire I can run a 23c. (Which in practice inflates out to around a 25). What critical dims can I measure with a caliper to make sure the R45s will fit before ordering? I plan to run them tubeless with 23c tires. Thanks, Tom

Hi Tom, 1. The 2014 Scott CR1 10 normally comes with Shimano BR-R561 calipers, can you check if these are the calipers you have? If so, the official recommendation rim range is 19-26mm according to SHIMANO. The R45 700C should be ok to fit the calipers. 2. Please measure the narrowest spacing between the chainstays and seat stays to make sure they are wide enough for the rims 700C. The widest area of the R45 is 27.3mm. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Then it has better aerodynamics. So, we recommend you to go for RR46C02(28mm wide/46mm deep) rims/wheels. Do you like 700C complete road wheelset or just rims only? We can quote accordingly for you. Am around 76kg, on carbon rim brake frame, basically riding relatively on flat road for speed. Sometimes, i do like to go for a climb but the gradient we have here is only 11% max and is just around 200m only. Am not sure does it justify for my below requirement or you have better suggestion. Which wheelset do you recommend? WRU45C02 or WR46C02 Can i go for spokes of 16 front, 20 rear? Possible to request without inner spoke holes?

Hi Peter, 1. Yes, we can make UST road wheels without spoke access holes on rim bed for you like the attachment. 2. Is it windy at where you ride? What about crosswinds? The WR45C02 provide better aerodynamics in no wind and lighter, the WR46C02 on the other hand with rounded "second" leading edge allows for more attached airflow, which reduces drags and increases balancing side force. You are a light rider and riding not aggressive, both wheelsets work well for you. 3. Do you have any specific hub(Front 16H, rear 20H) that you like to build the wheelset with? Hi Jason, Thanks for your inquiry! For RRU45C02 rims, the rim profile is designed as symmetrical. We do not have asymmetrical for road rims yet. For road rims, asymmetrical rim profile will affect the aerodynamics. So, normally most brands do not manufacture road rear rim with asymmetrial. Please find our quotation as below.
