Hi, can you build with Hope SCS hubs? I need wheels that will fit the 2016 Specialized Crux which uses the SCS hub width. Thanks.

LightBicycle 2017/01/10

Hello Stuart, Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, only Novatec/ Hope pro4 hubs/ DT Swiss hubs are available, not Hope SCS hubs. May I know what hubs axle size do you like for front and rear? Thanks, Lightbicycle

Ben 2015/08/23

Hi Light-Bicycle, Im interested in your 24mm road tubular wheelset with the 3k gloss finish and running the Novatec F582 rear hub for campy 11s. I was wondering if you can please forward information relating to price and availability in Australia (freight costs etc). Also, Im built for sprinting and weigh 83kg but am looking for a solid, stiff, lightweight wheel for my days in the mountains on a dedicated bike for the hill stages. Do you anticipate any issues with my weight. Additionally, I was wondering if you can comment on your breaking surface. In the past Ive buckled a carbon clincher rear (Easton EC90 SL) from descending too quickly in the hot Adelaide hills of South Australia. Any extra data or feedback would be welcomed. Kind regards, Ben

Light-Bicycle 2015/08/24

Hello Ben, Thanks for your inquiry. The 24mm tubular wheelset is USD495/pair (with Novatec hubs). The shipping cost is USD58 for one wheelset to Australia by EMS. We can build the 24mm wheels as following specs. -Rims: 23mm wide 24mm tubular rims, 3k glossy, 320 /-15g. Please find attached rim profile. -Hubs: Black, Novatec A291/F582 for Campy 11s (20H/24H) -Spokes: Black, Pillar Aero X-TRA 1420 aero -Nipples: Pillar PT 734. Do you like black/blue/gold/green/red/silver? According to your details, we'd like to recommend new 25mm wide U-shaped 25mm/35mm tubular wheels. It is much wider and stronger. All the road rims are with basalt braking surface. It is more safety, high durability and wear reduced. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Nick 2016/03/04

Hi, I couldn't help but notice Bens inquiry as I'm after a similar set of wheels (campy hub) and also I'm a few kilos heavier at 87Kg. Would you recommend a higher spoke count for my weight ie. (24H/28H)? Also regarding the warranty, how do you want tubulars to be fitted to your rims, glue or tape. I only ask because some manufacturers in England ask for tape. Thanks for your time. Regards Nick.

Light-Bicycle 2016/03/05

Hello Nick, Thanks for your inquiry. Normally, tubulars are glued onto the rim. We haven’t tried the tape on tubular. For customers who choose the clincher version tubeless compatible, they have to use yellow tape, sealant and tubeless tire. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Your listed weight is 1080 grams. Is that the weight as built with the Novatek hubs? If so, can it be assumed that they would be around 1010 grams built with the Bitex hubs?

Light-Bicycle 2015/04/13

Hello Andrew, Thanks for your inquiry. The 24mm wheelset weight 1080g on our website is with Bitex hubs, and the Novatec hubs on the list is what we recommend. We have changed the braking surface into basalt braking surface, which is more safety and high durability. So the wheels’ weight will be heavier, it is 1118 /-25g. If you like, we can build it as following specs for you. -Rims: 23mm wide 24mm tubular rims, 320 /-15g. Please find attached rim cross-section drawing. For rim weave, do you prefer 3k, 12k or UD? Matte or glossy? Front 20H/ rear 24H? Can you tell me my pricing and options for a 24mm carbon tubular? Looking for light weight climber/training wheel for every day use. I'm 180 pounds and race aggressively. Lots of downhill, so good braking is a must have. I need a stiff rear wheel as I have good power. I also need Shimano 11 speed compatibility. Prefer bladed spokes and rec hubs and nipples.

Light-Bicycle 2015/01/20

Hello George, Thanks for your inquiry. According to your description, we will recommend new 25mm wide U-shaped 35mm tubular rim with basalt braking surface. It is much wider and stronger. If you ride aggressive, U35mm is the best choice. Do you like it? We can build the rear wheel as following specs for you. -Rim: Please find attached rims cross-section drawing. RR24T02 (23mm wide 24mm tubular rim): 320 /-15g RRU35T02 (23mm wide U-shaped 35mm tubular rim): 360 /-15g For rim weave, do you prefer 3k, 12k or UD? Matte or glossy? 24H? Please find below link. http://www.flickr.com/photos/light-bicycle/sets/72157631432948364/detail/ -Hub: Red, Novatec A291/F482 for Shimano 11s. And our 11s hubs are with one ring (spacer), once you like to ride Shimano 8/9/10s, you can put the ring on rear hub. And if you ride 11s, you can take off the ring. -Spokes: Black, Pillar Aero X-TRA 1420 aero -Nipples: Red, Pillar PT 734. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Marcus 2014/11/23

Hi, Would it be possible to build this wheel to be compatible with a "SRAM X01 XG1195 11 Speed MTB Cassette"? Thanks Marcus

Light-Bicycle 2014/11/24

Hello Marcus, Thanks for your inquiry. We can build the 24mm disc wheelset as following specs for you. Rims: 20.8mm wide 24mm tubular rims, 320 /-15g. Please find attached rim cross-section drawing. For rim weave, do you prefer 3k, 12k or UD? Matte or glossy? Front 24H/ rear 24H? Please find below link. http://www.flickr.com/photos/light-bicycle/sets/72157631432948364/detail/ You like disc specifics, so no need braking surface on rims. Right? Hubs: We have Novatec & Hope hubs with Sram xx1. But we are not sure that Sram xx1 and Shimano 11s are compatible. Please find attached picture as a "guide". What hub axle size do you like for front & rear? Standard qr or thru axle? Spokes: Black, Pillar Aero X-TRA 1420 aero Nipples: Pillar PT 734. Do you like black, blue, gold, green or red? Thanks, Light-bicycle

Hi, I need: 3K matte 700c Clincher Shimano 11 speed hub ALSO needs Disc Brake How much would that be?

Light-Bicycle 2014/08/18

Hello Peter, Thanks for your inquiry. Currently, the 20.8mm outer width 24mm clincher rim is not available, but there is 23mm outer width rim. The 23mm rim is much stronger and their weights are almost the same. You can take it into your consideration. Please find the attached cross-section drawing of the 23mm wide 24mm depth clincher rim. Is it OK for you? It's OK to have the rims with 3k matte. You don't need the braking track on the rims, right? What spoke holes count do you prefer? http://www.flickr.com/photos/light-bicycle/sets/72157631432948364/detail/ There are disc Novatec D711 standard QR and D712-135mm standard QR for Shimano 11s(410g/pair). Do you prefer hubs in red, white or black? For the spokes, it’s black bladed Pillar Aero X-TRA 1420 (4.3g/pcs for 260mm) and black/red/blue/green/gold(alloy) and silver(brass) nipples. Thanks, Light-bicycle
