Hello Tommy, Thanks for your inquiry. The U35mm depth rim is $163/pcs. Shipping with EMS to Philippines is $33.3. Your total comes to $371.88 USD plus paypal fee. Normally, you need to get some new spokes, because the rim ERD is different, the spoke length will be different. The U35mm rim ERD is 569mm (not including nipple head dimension). The rim quality of different factories are different. Also, some trading companies are not factory, they just sell the stock rims of other factories. For stock rims, they are always with cosmetic problem, or not with good strength, or they are the return parts. If you buy the rims with bad quality, you have to take much time to rebuild the wheels. What tubeless tape width should I use for this rim? The inner width of the rim is 15.40mm, but the narrowest tubeless tape I can find is 19mm. Thanks.

Hi David, This is Carolin from Light Bicycle. Thanks for your inquiry. There are 2 kinds of road rims here currently. One is V shape with 23mm outer width(old design) and the second one is U shape with 25mm outer width(new design). The U shape rim will be more durable and stronger than the V shape rim. 38mm depth is V shape, I recommend you 35mm depth U shape rim. Please find the attached cross-section drawing of the rims. RR38C02:V-shape, $159/pcs, 400 /-15g, use 12~14mm rim tape RRU35C02: U-shape, $163/pcs, 435 /-15g, use 12~16mm rim tape 19mm width rim tape is too wide for our road rims. Could you please find narrower rim tape from other place, such as eBay? For tubeless, you could use a kind of yellow tape, sealant and tubeless tire. Then it works perfectly. Thanks, Lightbicycle

I'm also interested in a 38mm clincher UD finish rim to replace a rim from a set i own. Are there issues with the braking surface of these rims not being durable enough? I can't use the 35mm U shaped rim you're suggesting if I want to reuse the Sapim spokes and DThubs that came with the wheelset;

Hi, If I choose UD Matt for the rim finish , will the RIM BED be in 3k weave? This is important. Because the carbon strands at the spoke holes will fray when if the RIM BED is in UD finish.

For 3k/12k/UD, it is the outer carbon fiber layer to make the carbon fiber with different outlook. It is only the outer layer different and all the inside carbon fiber are the same. So, the strength & weight is almost the same. 3k/UD & matte are more popular. Then we can make graphic file for your reference. For the extra cost for custom graphic, it's around USD60 with one color. There is red Novatec D711standard QR.
