Benno's : My 2015 Defy with custom Light-Bicycle rims. I had custom graphics applied to some 24mm 3k matte rims and laced them to Extralite Cyber SPD hubs using Sapim CX-Ray spokes. Came out to 1199grams but more importantly they ride soooooo much smoother than the Zipp 202's that came with the bike. Very happy customer. Thanks Kartrin and Light-Bicycle!

Can the 23 X 24mm 700C clincher rim be drilled for 16-8 spoke lacing? Also, is it compatible with 23 or 25mm tubless tyres?

LightBicycle 2017/05/19

Hello David, Thanks for your inquiry. The 24mm clincher rim can be drilled in 24H with 2:1 drilling for 16-8 spoke lacing. Please find attached drilling pattern, which do you prefer? Recently, some customers gave us feedback that it is a little difficult to do the tubeless setups on RR24C02. So we’d like to recommend the 25mm wide U shape 25mm rim which is easy to setup tubeless tyres. You only have to use tubeless tape, sealant and tubeless tire. Then the rims can ride tubeless perfectly. Also, the wider rim is much stronger, and will work with 23C or 25C tubeless tyres well. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Erick 2017/03/07

Hi, i was wondering if a couple of 32h 24mm clincher carbon rims without brake surface could be build with a pair of phil track hubs with large flange?. I want to build the front wheel with diametral or straigh spokes and the rear wheel whit normal cross build, is there some problem with that kind of construction? or the rims have a specific way to be build? I dont like the 25 mm U shape rim because de inner width is too much big, in that case i must use like 28c tires as minimun and for track that doesnt help. Thank you for your time, sorry for my bad english. Grettings from Bogota, Colombia.

LightBicycle 2017/03/08

Hello Erick, Thanks for your inquiry. Our 24mm clincher rim will work with Phil track hubs. It is the same as normal wheels building. Yes, U25mm rim is much wider but stronger. If you use narrower tires like 23C, then go with 24mm rim. Thanks, Lightbicycle

Good morning, I would like to use a pair of rims on a tandem. Is that possible? Can it hold the weight of the German built Rohloff internally geared hub? The combined weight (riders and bike) are about 300pounds.

Light-Bicycle 2016/09/18

Hello Mark, Sorry for the late reply. Because we were on vacation in last 3 days. It is okay to use our rims on a tandem. However, we suggest you to go with the U shape 55mm depth rims. It is much deeper, stronger, and able to hold the geared hub. Does that work for you? I’m afraid that the 24mm is not strong enough for a tandem. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Light-Bicycle 2016/08/02

Hello GIUSEPPE, Thanks for your inquiry. Do you like the rims drilled with 32H holes? If so, that is fine. Do you need the brake tracks on rims? Is it for disc brake or normal road rims with brake surface? Thanks, Light-bicycle

SHINYA 2016/01/31

Can you center drilling? for 2to1 spoke reyout.

Light-Bicycle 2016/02/01

Hello SHINYA, Thanks for your inquiry. The 24mm clincher rim can not be manufactured with center drilling for 2:1. Sorry for the inconvenience. We’d like to recommend the wider U shape 25mm clincher rim which can be drilled with angle /-6. Do you like it? The aerodynamic shape makes road tubeless rims lightweight but still stiff, keeping them stable in cross winds. Rim profile attached for reference. RRU25C02 (25mm width U shape): 405 /-15g, $159/pcs RR24C02 (23mm width V shape): 400 /-15g, $150/pcs Thanks, Lightbicycle

Michiel 2015/09/29

Hi there, I already use your MTB rims and am looking for a rim that is light BUT has to have good braking performance in wet conditions. Do these rims have similar performance as alu-rims or Mavics ceramic rims? And what brakepads do you advise for DA9000 brakes? Thanks, Michiel

Light-Bicycle 2015/09/30

Hi Michiel, Currently, there is a new 25mm wide 25mm depth clincher U shape rim. This rim is strong and durable. I recommend you this rim. Please find the attached cross-section drawing of the rim. Is it OK for you? https://www.lightbicycle.com/Carbon-700C-25mm-wide-road-rim-clincher-25mm-deep-U-shape-tubeless-compatible-with-basalt-braking-surface.html#.Vgu8i_mqpBc RRU25C02: USD159/pcs, 400 /-15g For the rims, do you prefer UD, 3k or 12k? Matte or glossy? Front 20H/rear 24H? http://www.flickr.com/photos/light-bicycle/sets/72157631432948364/detail/ The road rims are carbon fiber materials and with basalt braking track(no aluminum here). If you use them in normal condition, the braking track will work well. It's OK to use the brake pads which are specially designed for carbon rims. We also sell brake pads here. Please find the attached picture for your reference. Thanks, Light-bicycle

Brian 2015/05/08

Hi, I'm interested in a set of these - 32 hole, matte UD, no braking surface with DT Swiss 240 centerlock disc hubs for 11 speed Shimano. Standard QR in the front and 135mm QR in the rear. I'd like to build them up myself with DT Swiss Aerolite spokes with alloy nipples in 3x. Or if you can't get those spokes, then just get the rims and hubs from you along with your recommended spoke lengths. Thanks, Brian

Light-Bicycle 2015/05/08

Hello Brian, Thanks for your inquiry. For rims, we’d like to recommend new 25mm wide U-shaped 25mm clincher rims. It is much wider and stronger. Do you like it? Because the 24mm clincher rims can not ride tubeless. RRU25C01 (25mm wide U-shaped 25mm clincher rim): 390 /-15g, USD159/pcs RR24C02 (23mm wide 24mm clincher rim): 390 /-15g, USD150/pcs It is ok to do UD matte, 32H, and no braking surface. Please find attached rims cross-section drawings. For hubs, we have black DT Swiss 240 J-bend centerlock disc hubs front standard qr/ rear 135mm standard qr for Shimano 11s. It is USD460/pair. For spokes, we only have black DT competition spokes/ Sapim cx-ray/Pillar x-tra 1420 aero spokes, no DT Swiss Aerolite spokes. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks, Light-bicycle
